The hours before Jesus’ birth Mary traveled either walking or bare-back on a donkey, with Joseph, from Nazareth to Bethlehem… less than perfect. There was no room for them in the Inn… less than perfect. She delivered him in a stable…way less than perfect! Most Kings would’ve come into the world in a palace with the finest of everything, but not Jesus. The King of all Kings came in humility. God’s plans are always perfect, but often don’t look the way we expect them to look. The wise men were educated and surely had ideas of how the Messiah’s entrance into the world should look. Isaiah had prophesied His coming but God never told him it would be by way of a barn. The most perfect Christmas in human history, the one in which our Savior entered the world, was imperfect humanly speaking, but God’s plan was being fulfilled. Your circumstances this Christmas may be less than perfect and may not look the way you expected, but trust that God has a perfect plan. And He will ultimately reveal His glory through it all.
