Remember in the garden, Adam and Eve willfully did what God said not to do. They deserved death, but instead God sacrificed an animal and covered them with the animal’s skin. He had compassion on them. All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (see Romans 3:23). Yet at times we become convinced we are the only one who has ever committed a particular sin, or there’s no way God would forgive us for the choices we’ve made. Those are lies. No sin is too big for God to forgive. Like Adam and Eve, we deserve death and eternal separation from God, but what we receive from Him is grace. Jesus, who was perfect, didn’t deserve to die. But out of His unfathomable love for us He chose to be the ultimate sacrifice for every sin ever committed. That’s grace! Once we’ve turned away from our sin and trusted in Jesus as savior, the sin is erased and remembered no more by God. God sacrificed His own Son to cover us. We are clothed by Him with grace, purity and righteousness. Let God dress you in His wardrobe and adorn you with grace.
