Friends with God

Certainly communication is vital to any healthy relationship.  If we want our relationship with God to be healthy and not some forced routine, it needs to be as natural as friendship.  Think of your best friend, it’s natural to want to check-in and spend time with that person as frequently as possible.  We will read and re-read to the point of memorization a message our best friend sends us.  Why, because we love and highly esteem our friend.  That’s how easy and natural it should be with God.  With friends we have cell phones, with Him we have prayer.  So weave prayer through your day, just like you would text messaging or calling a friend.  Want to praise Him?  Do it!  Have a problem or worry?  Tell Him.  Want to hear from Him? Get into His Word!  It’s His message to us.  Hide it in your heart one verse at a time.  It doesn’t have to be complicated!  Peace and joy are the result of weaving Him into your day everyday.
