Just as healthy food and water bring life to the physical body, a relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit brings life to the spiritual body. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6). He also referred to Himself as the bread of life and the living water, both essential for good health. The more time we spend with Him, the more our souls begin to crave Him as our body would crave water. Time with Him becomes essential. We hunger and thirst for Him (see Matthew 5:6). King David was well acquainted with this craving when He wrote, “Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him” (Psalm 34:8). Instead of feeding the appetites of our flesh with sin and immorality, be filled with the Spirit that produces fruit that satisfies. Prayerfully open your Bible and spend time in His presence, allowing God to satisfy your spiritual appetite through His Word.
