The Battle

Throughout the Old Testament we read of God delivering His people. He never promised to deliver them from the battle. Most often He delivered them through the battle. They had to step out in faith into the battle zone for God’s power and glory to be revealed. Most of us don’t face real battles with weapons, but we face spiritual battles whether we are aware of it or not. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). Thankfully God has given us weapons to defend ourselves… faith, truth, peace, His word, prayer, and salvation. Facing the battle is not a matter of if, but when. Hide in Him by putting on His full armor, “so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground” (Ephesians 6:13). Find peace in knowing He will deliver you through the battle.
