Tucked inside the never-ending faithfulness of God are His gifts.  But do we in our limited perspective recognize them?  We get too busy.  We miss out!  The Jesus-gifts staring us in the face…they go unnoticed.

Giving thanks…an art, an act of worship to be developed.  So praise Him by giving thanks.

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”  2 Corinthians 9:15

Ann Voskamp, in her New York Times Best Seller, One Thousand Gifts, reminds us to recognize grace…

in all, above all…

by giving thanks.

These are my gifts for the summer, the past week, life in general… at least the ones my spiritual eyes recognize.

And from the nudging of my heart overflows the words…

”ah… thank you Jesus.”

I love that I am on lunch break at work and I have the opportunity to remind myself how blessed I really am…well I should say God is reminding me:) thanks Rivera!! Thankful for—Daily protection, the way God speaks to us through His creation of nature, forgiveness and mercy, music, coffee, sunflowers, the trials and triumphs, amazing friends and sisters, His pursuit and desire to have an intimate relationship with us, vacations, outdoor activities, His word, and I could go on and on:)

🙂 thank YOU:) Reader’s comments are just as meaningful to other readers as my post, often more meaningful:) “His pursuit…” Love that!

This page is so beautiful… the comments and the original writing.

Gratitude bubbles out of me for so much, but I will just list a few:

    Elohim – The Strong One

A Daddy who taught me that the Word is life at a young age

A Mother who taught me to wage war through prayer at a young age

A sister who inspired me to be a real sister

    Friendship that never gives up.

Barren seasons, that help make ready the harvest

A God who allows us to be broken so that He can truly heal us

A sister, not just by blood, but by soul

A heart that’s free to worship

    Ana Duo

    Musical instruments

    Green & White

Leaders who stand up and alone for what is true…

    Just to name a few…

I started a list of my own. I’ve written three pages and am still writing. Almost a feeling of freedom and lots of “happy bubbles.”

Beautiful list! I am amazed each week when I write my list how much more obvious the gifts are after counting them! They are all around!!! 🙂 God is so good.

    My “gratitude attitude”-

–Samantha, God giving her to me was the single most effective “instrument” of change in my heart and the most precious gift I never cease to cherish and be amazed by
    –Samantha’s laughter
–Samantha’s crooked talking (she does on purpose to be silly)
–Samantha rubbing lotion on me when I mention I am itchy
–Samantha rubbing my back that is always in pain, or otherwise attempting to be nurturing at the tender age of 3 (almost 4!)
–Every SINGLE time Samantha tells me she loves me or gives me a hug or a kiss
–my husband working very hard to provide for our family, and who has from day 1 of us meeting 7 years ago
–my kitty cats who have comforted me countless times over the last 10 years when they see me cry, I love how God uses animals to give us comfort, I have always loved animals and He knows it!
–God making His Word alive and new to me every single time I open it, I still find that amazing after 24 years of being a “Christian”, it’s never “old” but always an adventure in growing and getting to know my Jesus
–I can’t see a list like this and not mention God’s forgiveness and grace for taking me back and accepting me with all my “junk”, THAT is a miracle I am grateful for! And that He extends this gift to everyone equally!!
–Coffee, I am now and always will be grateful for God giving us coffee, thank You Jesus! How I need Your necter of coffee every morning!
–the smell of baking apples and cinnamon (pie!!!!)
–Easter, and all it means and represents. It is my favorite holiday because of the cross, because of Jesus, because I am so in love with Him and it’s a holiday devoted to HIM and focused on His victory. Christmas is fun and I love it, but I LOVE Easter and worshiping with the body of Christ over His ressurection! WOOO!!!!
–“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 I am grateful for this promise and His faithfulness to keep it in every area of my life, He provides all things for me and my family, not more than I need but just enough so I must always depend on Him.
–I am thankful that He cares about the details of my life
–for classical music! Wow, what a phenomenal blessing given to us by master artists of music! There is nothing quite so unique and moving as classical music!
–friends who love Jesus and seek Him wholeheartedly, though they be few they are special and dear to me and they are faithful to Him and a treasure to my heart

wow….I could go on and on!!!
Give thanks unto the Lord for His mercy endureth forever!!!!!!!!!!! ❤ YOU Rivera!

    What am I thankful for?
-the feeling of Jesus gently nudging my heart and shaping my character in tangible ways
-Sweet memories of UU, the lady who helped raise me. Thankfulness welled up in my heart for the way she invested in me and nurtured me.
-Time with my granny and my youngest niece, Sarah
    -Adventures with Haley and Hunter
    -Laughter at Kaley’s shower
-a life group that does life together
-a husband who encourages in words and actions
-The way God keeps my heart connected to my friends who don’t live in the same town.
-the sound of wind chimes blowing in the wind
    -coffee on the back porch

I could go on and on…it’s always a great exercise to make a list of thanksgivings! 🙂
