As a result of the Israelites sin, the golden calf was destroyed by fire, ground into powder and put in their water. They then had to drink the gold dust. Have you ever said something and had to eat your words? Have you ever experienced consequences of wrong choices? The Israelites were pleased with themselves for creating this statue to worship. They even celebrated, but the consequences were devastating and resulted in death for many. Eventually God sent a plague to remind them of what they had done. I have always loved teaching young girls and reminding them that with every decision, there would most certainly be a consequence. Depending on their choices, these results would be good or bad. We have opportunities every day of our lives to make right choices based on God’s word. And Satan certainly likes to entice us with sin, making it look pleasurable and fun. It may be fun for a season, but you can be certain, playing with fire will get you burned. Make your choices wisely.
