As you know, my long time friend Laura passed away this past week.  She planned her own celebration of life.  Her fingerprints were all over it, including the message of hope and salvation through Jesus.

She planned it in the Spring of 2010.  Her one request was that her ceremony would be on a Saturday.  She didn’t want to inconvenience people to have to take a day off work to be there.

She had no way of knowing the Saturday of her funeral would land on her husband’s birthday a year and a half later.

His response,

“I can’t think of a better way to spend my birthday than to celebrate my wife going to be with Jesus.”

That’s perspective…unselfish…worship-filled…perspective.

I smile today at the thought that my high school singing buddy is now a member of the heavenly choir, and if not in the choir, she’s at least enjoying the choir as they sing.

Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come.

Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come.

Over and over and over they sing…praising God.

So I join in singing…words of praise…giving thanks in all things.

…when He takes away, He also gives… blessed be the name of the Lord.

I give thanks for

~the Word of God

Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:

   “‘Holy, holy, holy

   is the Lord God Almighty,’

who was, and is, and is to come.”

Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
   for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”  Revelation 4:8-11

By His will we were created, and by His will and in His time we will be carried home to be with Him.  Blessed be the name of the Lord.

I was just telling a friend of mine yesterday that when I die I hope that no one cries but that everyone celebrates! Because I know I’ll be celebrating!!!! Its so easy to get wrapped up in the emotions of our circumstances, the thought of losing our loved ones and seeing pain in our family members….but for those who know Jesus, it truly is a celebration! Im glad you posted this. I love that confirmation…. 🙂 Worthy is the Lamb!!!! Ohhhh that gives me holy Goosebumps!!
