Away With Him

I slip away… up stairs away… from the joy and noise of family, friends, and technology.  The stress of to-do lists, deadlines and busyness.

Longing to get away where the glory of the Lord rests like Moses on Mount Sinai.  Or away like Daniel in his quiet place, where– knees to the ground– he bowed and prayed in his upper room three times a day.

I meet there with Him in the quiet.

Knees to the ground, I kneel in front of the woven, wooden chair in the window.  Away from the crowd, remembering and praying.

Jesus met with His Father in the quiet of prayer, away from crowds and friends and demands.

Before the cross He got away with His disciples in the upper room.  They shared Passover, the breaking of bread and giving thanks.  There He said, “Do this in remembrance of Me.”

He beckons me to my upper room into the quiet… in remembrance and thanksgiving for Love broken and spilled out.  Selfless, love-giving Life!  Redeeming love that covers sin.  The Lord Our Righteousness hung and died to purify our crimson stained lives.  This Love conquered death to make a way to right-ness and fellowship with our heavenly Father.  A way to resurrect our decaying souls to life.

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. ~Isaiah 1:18

This Holy week do this in remembrance of Him…Who is most Holy!

Get away with Him in your upper room…

and remember Love.

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace”  ~Ephesians 1:7
