Today, I want to encourage us all to get healthy. Take just one step. Here are a few options. Exercise, drink more water, cut the white sugar and flour out of your diet, or increase your green veggies. One way I increase veggies is by juicing. Why? Because it’s good for me! Besides, it gives me more energy and, Lord knows, as a mama and wife I need as much energy as I can get.
And, did you know it can actually be an act of worship to God to take care of our bodies?
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Therefore, I urge you, brothers (and sisters), in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Romans 12:1
These are my favorite, simple, most healthy juicing recipes. Just thought I’d share!
2-3 stalks of raw kale. Remove the stalk and just juice the leaves
2 cups of raw spinach
4-5 leaves of romaine lettuce
one lemon – Peel most of it. Leave some lemon peel on one side to add some zest. You’ll want to take off as much of the white skin as possible (that’s what makes it bitter).
These are delicious and refreshing! Just as these infuse nutritious, healing life into individual cells in the physical body, God’s Word infuses life into our spiritual bodies. Take a few minutes each day to chew on His Truth. Invite Him to make it come alive to you. Let the Living Water and Bread of LIfe Himself put a skip in your step. He brings healing and makes all things new!
