Saying Thanks

How can we NOT say thank You for all the ways He loves, forgives, and lavishes us relentlessly with beautiful gifts and blessings?

He fed the five thousand!

“Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves.”  Matthew 14:19b

Jesus broke bread with the disciples in the upper room only hours before He was broken and poured out for our sins, and He gave thanks.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.”  Mark 14:22

There are so many ways to do it, this thanking Him: praying, praising, speaking, even writing.  But the most beautiful way is in our living.  We can live our thanks every day by honoring Him with our lives, by blessing others, by extending grace, by loving the way He loves!

He wants us to give thanks in ALL things:  That includes happy, sad, sick, well, rich, poor, big things and small things.

My wife and I are both seniors who have been married nearly 40 years. I thank God every day for bringing her into my life (aloud in bed before we go to sleep). I thank her for giving me so much happiness. We both thank God for our family. Equally importantly we thank each other often for the little things that we do to make each other happy and content.
