Happy Freedom Day America!

American Flag

Lord, Thank You that we live in a country where we can worship You openly.  Thank You for all of the men and women who have fought for our freedom.  Thank you for loving us enough to give us your Word, which guides us into all truth.  Thank you for sending your Son to die that we might have forever life.  I pray you’ll continue to protect us as a country.  Protect our government leaders.  I pray they’ll seek You and Your truth and wisdom as they lead.  I pray our leaders hearts would be open and sensitive to Your voice.  As they honor You with their decisions, I ask that You honor them with Your favor.  I pray for revival in our land, an awakening of who You are and what it looks like to walk with you.  May we spend more time in prayer and less time fighting.

I pray we become a Nation that “look(s) unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).  Earthly leaders will let us down, so may our hope always be in You alone, the One who created all things.   Forgive us for the times we’ve turned away.  Our country was built on hope and faith in You, Lord.  Turn us back.  I pray we will continue to be a country that stands on the words “In God We Trust,” for true and lasting freedom comes from You.

In Jesus Name, Amen!

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. ~2 Corinthians 3:17

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance. ~Psalm 33:12
