Freedom, Fireworks, and a Giveaway

Thank you to everyone who participated in this giveaway! Hopefully you all had a wonderful time with family and friends over the 4th of July! Congratulations!! You are ALL winners! If you left a comment on this post, send your mailing address to this week and I will send you a copy of Intimacy!

Have you ever experienced the thrill of fireworks? I have. Over the lake, on television, over the ocean, over a city skyline, even over corn fields and baseball diamonds. There were a few fireworks on my honeymoon too!

But I have to admit, none of those fireworks compare to the ones that come with a love relationship with Jesus. He is over-the-top amazing. He makes impossible things possible, He shines light over darkness, and makes every day new and fun. His Spirit sets a fire in the soul that can’t be contained. He motivates us to be better and love better. In Him there is freedom and life. Oh how He loves.

Did you know…

“The Lord is Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.”  ~2 Corinthians 3:17

“…if the Son (Jesus) makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”  ~John 8:36

Oh there’s so much I could say here, so many directions I could go. For now, I’ll keep it short and sweet…

If you want the fireworks of your life to be set ablaze this year and freedom to live fully, I encourage you to pursue deeper relationship with Jesus. Whether you’ve never encountered Him at all, known of Him in church, or really know Him personally, there’s always more. He’s where it is…fireworks, miracles, love like you’ve never known. Lean into Love. He is so in love with you! Intimacy with God will lead to the most phenomenal fireworks of your life: with Him and in your other relationships. You’ll be amazed.

To celebrate the 4th of July this year, I want to give away a SIGNED copy of my book, “Intimacy: into me You see.”

“Intimacy” will challenge you to lay down religion and will woo you into closeness with the Lover of your soul, Jesus. You will be delighted to draw closer to the Father’s heart and to dive in deeper with Holy Spirit. This book is a journey of the heart where you actually experience God for yourself.

There are TWO ways to enter to WIN

Hi Rivera, I may be too late to enter the contest. I would like to see the intimacy of God as I support my husband in his desire to be sober from drug and alcohol addiction. I want to be a godly wife and also stay strong in the Lord as I am here for him any way I can be spiritually.

    1. Rivera Douthit says:

Ashley, I’m praying for freedom from addiction for your husband, and God’s blessings over you as you stand by him through it! Thank you for your comment. Now I know how I can pray for you specifically.

I’m currently in a wild, crazy, exciting season of transition from high school to college. The last year has been crazy and hard, but it’s been so good because God has proven Himself good and faithful multiple times. He’s currently teaching me to trust Him and His goodness and I’m hoping as I lean into Him and dive deep into Him, I’ll find the love, acceptance, friendship, and freedom that my heart so deeply craves.

Thanks. Have you announced the winner yet? I keep checking your blog ever so patiently to see who won but I haven’t seen it yet…maybe I missed it.

Once I had the opportunity to hear my biological Father speak what I knew was the heart of our Heavenly Father for me and it so fed the cry of my soul that I could not stop crying for days. It was beautiful! And I made me see me in an entirely new way. I started a new journey to the truth of me. Grateful for it!

    1. Rivera Douthit says:

Therosia, so thankful you had the beautiful revelation of God’s love for you! I pray you grow in your closeness to Him even more. Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing! Blessings:) Oh, and you’re entered to win!

Rivera you say that a love relationship with Jesus provides more fireworks than anything else. I have found that bringing Jesus into my marriage (REALLY bringing Him into it) adds fireworks to our marriage. If only I had done this from the start. Better late than never, though. I now appreciate my wife for the truly amazing gift from God she is. She gets more wonderful all the time and there are definitely fireworks in the bedroom! By the way we are both in our 70s.

    1. Rivera Douthit says:

Absolutely P!! I agree! Bringing Jesus into the center of your marriage certainly creates fireworks like never before! Knowing Him intimately is the beginning of understanding intimacy at it’s purest, and helps with intimacy in all other relationships! Blessings to you and your sweet wife my friend. Thank you, and you are entered to win!

Funny thing Rivera, Im just headed to sleep after a long exhausting day. I glance over my email and here I am. It was a rough, difficult year for myself and family last year. By December 31st 2013, I had completely surrendered to Jesus, to God. All of our worries, I simply lost any energy to worry by the last day of last year. But. God. 🙂 Jan 1st 2014, God spoke this word to me: “Restore”. I knew it meant God was going to bless our little family but wow! There have been so many miracles of renewing that God has done in me as a wife and mom and in my husband and in our children since Jan 1st. That day began the first day of that “freedom” you wrote about above. My family and I are walking proof that God is constantly loving on us daily! I have not read your new book yet Rivera but win or lose I hope everyone takes a moment to stop and read your post and mine: I know God loves on us constantly, even when we least expect he is. The moment we cast our cares upon the throne of God is the moment we will truly “recognize” our freedom and the many ways that he has been loving on us all along. 🙂 Love ya Rivera and miss u friend!

    1. Rivera Douthit says:

I love and miss you too Natasha! I love the way you testify of His love! “Testimony” means “do it again.” Do it again Lord. When we share what He’s done/doing, it’s like doing it again. Over and over we tell it, and the stories of His faithfulness live on! He’s SO good and that’s an understatement! Big hugs friend!! ❤️

  6. Mary T says:

Rivera, my journey to intimacy with Jesus is filled with and by His love for me. My faith and love for Him grow more and more… my prayers are heard and He always answers me in His perfect time, according to His divine plan. My relationship with Jesus is always leading me closer to Him and a journey of love with only one destination, that I may hear Him say, “Well done, my faithful daughter!” I would love to read your book!
